Actually, I am, at the time of writing, on duty in the Surgical ICU enjoying the wonders of wireless internet. Sasamantalahin ko na dahil last duty ko na to. At benign yung mga patients.
This day’s re-entry tackles my non-medical interests at the time being.
Med Info: Re-entry is the most common cause of cardiac arrythmia.

Radioactive Sago Project has released its third album. Read this Star article about it. I am a fan of De Veyra’s takes on life, culture, politics, philosophy first and they’re music second. I can’t wait to listen to the tracks real soon.
It is rather sad that not many people appreciate Sago. Maybe it’s because the younger people nowadays who I believe comprises majority of what is ‘mainstream’ are too superficial or maybe too naive to appreciate what they are saying. Most of them are happy with the love songs in all forms of music and pseudo-music. I don’t want to be preachy. I was once younger. Then when my most difficult problem was one involving the fairer sex, when classes were only 45 to 90 minutes long, when all you need to be hip was to know how to play the guitar. I haven’t forgotten how it is to be younger. But what I can’t excuse is the trend of apathy towards striving to be wiser. Maybe it is true that you gain wisdom through age. But I also believe that wisdom is not gained passively. There should be a conscious effort to gain it. Otherwise, as is the sad fate of many, they grow old like an empty shell with nothing noteworthy to impart.

The other reason why I am excited about the new album is because I want to include it in my playlist. Hahaha. I recently bought an iPod shuffle (that orange one on the right) and even if it lacks the screen and the added capacity, an iPod is an iPod. Ibang klase talaga ang audio! Hahahaha! I’ve never been happier listening to music. It’s so small but it packs a wallop! I love the clip-on! What’s most wonderful about it is I got it cheaper, $75 plus tax. It’s much cheaper than the locally available shuffle. I LOVE IT!!!

Joanne Kathleen Rowling isn’t the 2nd wealthiest woman (second to Oprah) in the world for nothing. With the phenomenal success of Harry Potter, she proved that e-books won’t be as good as the real thing. I am sad to have read half of the fifth and the whole of the sixth Potter installment as PDFs. I swear, though, that I will save money to buy all 7 books, hard bound in a case. This is why I am excited that finally Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be released in the middle of this year. Haha. It will be much longer than that for me to get my hands on it but the mere fact that it is already finished, and with Daniel Radcliffe signing for films 6 and 7, it is enough to keep me up my toes. Still shocked by the events in the sixth book, I can’t wait to see how the Potter series ends. So hello Hallow. Goodbye money. Hahahaha.

Sino ba ang hindi nanonood ng Heroes? The Golden Globe nominee for Best Television Series surely has captivated an audience at a rate of epic proportions. While my laptop hard disk space is a pathetic 40GB, downloading the latest episodes takes a huge chunk of HDD space. I should really get a DVD writer. Hmm… Ang dami-dami! Kailangan ko talaga ng raket! Dami ko gusto bilhin! Hay…
So, Heroes. You keep guessing what happens next and still you are surprised. ‘Save the cheerleader, save the world’ was their mantra. After the cheerleader is saved (but is she safe now?), incredible plot twists, and more and more blood shed, the world is still not safe and you still hate that ‘To be continued…’ screen at the end of the episode. Sobrang nakaka-adik!!!

I find it amusing and rather ironic that while I have been stripped of television and radio for the past 9 years of my life, and while I am not used to watching TV now and listening to the radio even if one or both is present, my interests include downloading TV episodes for my WMP11 and mp3 for my iPod. Same things, different forms. The world is evolving, yes. But what satisfies one doesn’t.
